Today is a perfect day to explain the nonsense that I always speak about when it comes to Insurance. We hired a reputable transport company (name will not be mentioned) to assist us in the transport of a Porsche Turbo.(Enclosed Transporter). We happen to have a special policy to cover all of our transporters in the event that they are underinsured like 98% of the industry or the policy cancels while in route. My policy took effect again with a 7600.00 dollar repair. Now we all know its an accident and no one ever seems to want to hurt a car and have to pay, but things do happen and thats why its called an accident. Otherwise we would call them on-purposes. In todays maket, the brokers have killed the industry by fighting with pricing. We understand that people try to make money, and they should. Keep in mind, what you pay is what you get. Thats why drivers can't afford the proper insurance policies to cover their Butt's, or yours. This industry is as crappy as you can ask for.. Most Drivers have bad reputations, bad tempers, body odor, and even bad breath. I'm not saying all do, but unfortunetlly many do. This is an industry that has turned rotten over the years. Please keep in mind that its not the transporters fault. The transporters have been squeezed so much that they can't afford to operate with new equipment and have no choice but to have Poor or next to No Insurance.(They can't even afford to stop and take a shower) We can't blame them, and neither should you as a customer. The Department of Transportation is doing a great job to stay on top of the companies that are running very poor operations, but it takes time to weed them all out.
